I swear this man is like a drunk 19 year old girl calling out every man that’s ever done her wrong since middle school. There is no one in this world more petty than our 45th President of the United States.  It is with a heavy heart that on this day, November 18th, 2017, I hereby order the official cancellation of Gabby Douglas. Around 5 o’clock on November 17th, Gabby apparently lost her goddamn mind and sent out an ignorant ass tweet in response to her former teammate Aly Raisman’s #MeToo. Aly recently opened up about how she had been sexually assaulted for years by a team doctor. While many praised Aly Raisman for her bravery, her teammate for whatever reason felt the need to throw in her two cents stating via tweet, “it is our responsibility as women to dress modestly and be classy. Dressing in a provocative/sexual way entices the wrong crowd.”    I could scream. I’m not going to go in on what she said. Earlier this year, in April, Shea Moisture received backlash for a pretty controversial commercial.  If you click on the link and watch you'll see that the brand who was once known for being a go-to for black women was missing a whole lot of melanin. Critics say that the Shea Moisture was forgetting those who made them what they were in favor of appeasing white women. Others noticed that certain products didn't work as well in their hair anymore due to the company changing its hair formulas again to benefit those with looser hair textures, non-problematic hair types and etc.  I supported this boycott 100% at first but not just because of the commercial. Shea Moisture has a bit of a history with these sort of mishaps that alone I don't believe are a big deal but altogether shows a pretty clear pattern. Former Fox News host, Megyn Kelly, exposed the hell out of Bill O'Reilly this past Monday when her disgraced mentor said that no one had ever complained about his behavior in the workplace. Kelly said she knows for a fact it's not true because she personally had made complaints about his treatment towards women who in the past spoke out against the decades of sexual harassment at FOX News. She had also spoken to network heads about O'Reilly's own sexual harassment history. Also this past week O'Reilly reached a 32 million dollar settlement with just one woman who had gone after him. Kelly said it gives her "no pleasure" to speak against her former employer, "but this must stop. The abuse of women, the shaming of them, the threatening, the retaliation, the silencing of them after the fact -- it has to stop." I agree with Kelly y'all, what a time to be alive. While performing at a charity event the singer, Harry Styles, was assaulted by a deranged fan. As you'll see in the video he was kneeling down in front of a group of girls when one decided to take advantage of the situation and reach for his crotch, Styles quickly pushed her hand away. Though he didn't stop his performance he was obviously shaken by the incident. He avoided that part of the stage for the rest of his show. Although many fans and others alike were quick to get onto social media to denounce this act, there are some who still sought to normalize this attack and imply that it was somehow nothing more than an accident. It's no wonder why men don't speak up when they feel as though they've been assaulted or raped. Alyssa Milano was invited to Good Morning America on Thursday to discuss her #MeToo social media campaign. About a week ago she tweeted, "If you've been sexually harrassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet." The goal was to show men , everyone, how widespread sexual harassment and abuse is. About 1.4 million women, as of Thursday morning, tweeted out the hashtags along with their own personal stories. Milano added "This is your movement, women. This is your time and if I can be the vessel and hold the bullhorn for you guys to shout as loud as humanly possible then I'm honored to do so."
